Welcome to my new blog! This has been a process, months in the making. A BIG THANK YOU goes out to the Community Foundation for South Central New York. A first time Artists Grant was offered this year from the Community Foundation for SCNY in conjunction with the Broome County Arts Council. I was one of three artists to receive this grant.
Entitled Keeping Current, I wrote the grant so I could gain control of my online representation. I had a website and web designer for years but I found that the site became outdated nearly at the same time that it was posted. Having a website/web log (blog) gives me the autonomy to post images and write responses of my “art life” in actual time. It’s a way to expand my outreach.
I am very excited to post new work as it occurs. Before the paint is dry, it’ll be seen. I don’t have to wait to have an exhibit for others to see what my latest paintings look like. I’ve also joined a few social media sites in hopes that it will generate interest. I’m expecting FaceBook, twitter, Linked In and Pinterest to benefit my exposure to art lovers everywhere.
Much of what I do revolves around the visual arts. I intend on sharing my thoughts as well as what I create on canvas. I give a special shout out to Steve Palmer for tutoring me through this process. A process it is and I’m ready to hit the ground running while I continue to learn and work on my visual voice.
